Canapés and Conjuring

…and lots of them were the order of the day from a local Cheshire PR agency for their launch party. The company organised an evening of mirth and merriment in order to advertise a whole host of new services and they entertained their guests with magicians performing some amazing close up conjuring tricks.

However, it was the guests who really made things disappear – a HUGE selection of hot and cold canapés simply vanished before your very eyes along with cases of chilled foreign beers and some very quaffable wines. The canapés were many and varied, we had shot glasses full of pea & mint soup, baby cheeseburgers, tomato cups filled with olive and almond tapenade, oriental crab parcels, roast beef and horseradish roulades, tandoori chicken kebabs, prawn and chive quiche triangles, tiny fruit meringues and strawberries dipped in chocolate to name but a few. This was a splendid party and the magicians were a great idea for the entertainment. No matter how closely you looked and concentrated on “not missing a trick” (sorry!) you simply did miss the trick – sleight of hand and all that but nonetheless, very clever people. It’s the type of entertainent that lends itself to all sorts of functions particularly ones that involve guests waiting for food to arrive eg: weddings, corporate bashes etc. Food for though so to speak!
